Not having much of something, makes it more valuable.
Living with MS, power takes on different meanings.
MS isn’t just one issue. It is an eroding nervous system. The constant losses chip away at personal power. It can be overwhelming.
That’s why I’m obsessed with nutrition and fitness. They’re my building blocks. The longer I keep MS’s degradation at bay, the more control I have over my life.
Then I look around at what’s happening in America. Women’s rights are being stripped away.
It blows my mind.
I focus intensely on my program to keep as much power over myself as I can.
Meanwhile, my country has decided it’s “too woke.” Whatever that means.
Apparently, it’s too liberal.
But we were never an equal country. Not even close. And now we’re taking more rights away?
Roe wasn’t just about abortion. It impacts women’s health in countless ways. Doctors are letting women die because they fear being arrested for doing their jobs.
Why is IVF under attack? I can’t wrap my head around it.
Now birth control is on the endangered list.
No-fault divorce is being questioned.
These are steps backward.
Big ones.
We never achieved equal pay for equal work. And life is about to get even more unfair.
I get it. Life was never fair.
Here I am, doing everything I can to empower myself while living with MS. And my country? It’s determined to disempower women.
The number of women voting against their own interests? Mind-boggling.
Autonomy. Is healthy.
People who have power over their lives have options.
How is that a bad thing?
Looking at the debt our Country is in, we need people who can create successful businesses.
I don’t see how disenfranchising women helps.
Is it too big a jump to say making personal life difficult for women will also effect the economy?
No. I’d bet the house it does.
How do we fight for our rights when MAGA swept the election?
I’m confused.
But I’m still doing each step of my program to fight MS.
